Planning your St. Vincent vacation
Prepare
to experience a vacation of a lifetime in St. Vincent, where you can
get lost in the splendor of its fertile valleys and glistening beaches.
You’ll feel pampered on this island because it doesn’t receive many
visitors. It’s a whirl of water fun for the few who flee to St. Vincent
hotels for yachting trips and scuba excursions. However, the island
is more than just another gateway to the fascinating Caribbean and
Atlantic waterways. St. Vincent is brimming with historical landmarks
and ruins that preserve its strong African, British, and Indian heritages.
Explore this wonderful island from top to bottom, and beyond. Hitch
a ride on a ferry for a day trip in Bequia or for a few romantic nights
at hotels on another neighboring Grenadine island. Yacht charters,
day sails, and boat trips also are available for rides to Grenadines’ inaccessible islands, all which are a stones throw from St Vincent.
Travel Tips
The beaches at St. Vincent are
its main attraction, so beach safety is of utmost importance for
vacation planners. Be sure to wear sunscreen with a high SPF, as
the sun can be quite intense, even on cloudy days. Reapply after
swimming, activity, or after several hours on the beach. While you
want to return home with a great tan, a bad sunburn can put a damper
on your vacation. Build your tan slowly during your stay. Many areas
along the beaches are patrolled by lifeguards, and families with
young children would be advised to frequent these.
St. Vincent is a very safe place to
visit, but visitors should use common sense. Don’t leave valuables
in your vehicle, or on the beach unattended. Numerous banks are
located throughout the islands which offer currency exchange, and
ATM’s are plentiful. |
